I am going to share a story which will tell you why one should never give dowry(?)
It was a rainy day in the month of May,
A twenty-four-year-old girl who had a heart of a pearl,
And was her parent’s love- was unfortunately burnt on the stove!
Six months ago, she was excited about getting married,
But she never knew that the dowry greed would make her husband get carried away.
She was her Daddy’s angel and Mumma’s queen, but her in-laws were just selfish and mean.
Her parents failed to fulfil the promise of gifting him a house,
As a result of which she was harassed by her spouse.
She always dreamt of having a marriage like a fairy tale,
But her in-laws were busy measuring her family’s financial scale.
She was going through a grievous phase and decided to file a case.
When the husband came to know about her complaint,
He decided to end the life of his wife.
Indeed, there are no flaws in our laws,
But our thinking is day by day.
Taking and giving dowry is a crime which is punishable with imprisonment and fine.
Marriage is not a deal but a sanctified feel,
It must be based on mutual respect and love and not on hatred and stove.
