Tennessee wheats decided to check out the massive car accident pile up on the main strip. She thought that this kind of stuff has been going on for the past year, constantly.
Nothing could explain what happened. This woman did an efficient job at tracking the causes. Final results were inconclusive, though. Tennessee is the best police officer they had. It didn't help in the long run. Too many innocent lives were taken for no reason at all. It has happened in the community church, not too long ago.
A woman sat at one of the pews taking in the service. In an instant, the lady turned white. The kind of white that looked like snow. All of a sudden, she started coughing up blood and then fell dead to the floor. Her heart exploded inside of her. The woman’s name was Queen Jenkins. A strange but healthy name. Sort of dreamy but earthy. Again, the death didn't make sense.
The cases are officially known as Invisible vampires. The reason: The people’s complexion were pasty or snow white.
Looking over the wreckage, she sees dead people being taken out of their vehicles.
Tennessee goes over to one of the emergency workers and said “See if you can find out what happened to them, and get back to me.”
The emergency worker said “It might take a while, since there's supposed to be autopsies done.”
Tennessee said “I know. Just do what you can and get back to me. I don't expect you to do anything illegal to jeopardize our jobs. Be careful. I have a hunch on this.”
The emergency worker said” Ok. As soon as i get the information, i will let you know.”
Tennessee said “Great.”
At that moment, a group of black jeeps went by. It looked as if this kind of thing was to protect a dictator or someone of immense importance. No one paid it any mind. Not even Tennessee.
She went back to the carnage that laid in front of her.
Studying the scene and questioning witnesses, the police officer decided to see what happened.
In the field for ten years, not once did something like this happen. Invisible vampires was a no see no touch type of case. It wasn't that. What made these cases special was nobody had been caught. Not one single person.
It's crazy, but Wheats didn't think it was someone but a something.
Tennessee’s sister had died along time ago, from what appeared to be the same affliction as the people who died. Tennessee’s thought this is no accident.
On her cellphone, Tennessee dialed and said, once someone picked up the other line “Get me the files of the deceased people in the past few weeks that were part of the Invisible vampires case. Thanks.”
She gave her location once the conversation had ended.
If the person wasn't here when Tennessee finished, then Wheats would go to them. She wanted to solved these cases, to put closure for the people's families and herself. This way, Tennessee would have a better understanding of how her sister died. Until then, it will be day and night, working on the unsolved mysteries to put an end to this, and capture who or what was doing this.
In another part of town: A man is working on his computer to try and test a few things. It had valuable information that very important people wanted. He had a block on his system, so it wouldn't be tracked.
A knock at the door.
The man reached for his gun and went to it.
“Who's there?”
The man made a critical mistake. He opened the door, slightly, and somebody kicked it in. It sent the man to the floor, losing his firearm, in the process.
A woman stood over him, pointing her own gun.
“At it again, Network? You don't learn, do you.?”
Network said “ Tennessee. Glad to see you. Still haven't changed.”
Tennessee said “I don't plan to. Tell me what is going on? A lot of people are getting killed, and it has your name on it.”
Network said “I know my rights. You can't break down my door without a search warrant.”
Tennessee said “I have probable cause.”
Network went to lunge for his gun, but Tennessee kicked him in the ribs, knocking the wind out of him, momentarily.
After getting the breath in his lungs back, Network said “You play dirty.”
Tennessee said “I will get worse, if you don't tell me what I want to know.”
Network asked “And what is that?”
Tennessee kicked him once more. She grabbed him by the hair and asked “Why are so many people dying like that?”
Network said “I don't know what you are talking about.”
Tennessee head butted Network. She drew blood.
Network dazed for a moment, then checking his head said “What are you doing? This is police brutality! You can't do this!”
Tennessee yelled “I already did! Now tell me what I want to know!”
Network said “And if i don't?”
Tennessee pointed the gun to his head, and said “I will kill you right here!”
Network thought about it.
“Ok., i will tell you, but you can't say it came from me.”
Tennessee said “I’ll make sure you get protection.”
Network said “No! You don't understand! I will be killed if they know i said anything! Doing that will be a dead giveaway! Literally!”
Tennessee said “Yes, we have a deal. Spill it.”
Network said “It is done by spirits. They get possession of the bodies, and control their minds.”
Tennessee started laughing.
“You expect me to believe that?”
Network said “I swear to you, i am not lying. Check the database.”
Tennessee plugged two bullets into Network’s brain. Just to be sure he was dead, two more bullets went into his chest. This time, no more Network.
Tennessee went over to the computer and made sure she deleted all the information from the machine. She also destroyed the database. To make it look like a robbery gone bad.
The whole time, the female police officer wore leather gloves. No fingerprints to trace when the proper authorities and experts showed up.
Going outside to get a breath of fresh air. The deed is done. No more people dying like that. The person responsible for it is now dead. He will be looked upon as crooked and a killer that got his due in the end.
The same black jeeps arrived at Network's place. One of the people came out of the jeep to talk to Tennessee.
“You take care of everything?”
Tennessee replied “Yes. Everything is gone, and so is he.”
She pointed to the area where Network laid dead.
“You better not have them find your gun. The murder will point in your direction if they do.”
Tennessee said “I haven't been in the business this long, just so I could get caught on something i forgot. My gun? No, this is done with. I'm getting rid of it, where no one will be able to find it.”
“That is good.”
The person made sure of Tennessee not saying anything.
Bullets came from everywhere, so the body could not be properly identified. The bullets went through most of her body. No traces will come back to The Group.
The person went back in the jeep, and signaled for everyone to start moving, again.
It was better to be safe than sorry. You never knew who would talk. The Group didn't take chances like that.
